I had a laparoscopy procedure and they took everything but my ovaries. I'm still having bad pain like the surgery was last week. It's a stabbing constant pain that just won't go away. I am currently taking Vicodin and when it's really bad dilauded 2mg. The pain is more in my right side which I where they put the camera port. I have been wearing my binder when I know I'm going to have a long time standing. Also I have severe menopause symptoms because my ovaries haven't kicked back on.

I had a TAH and at 6 weeks, I was still having pain. I was still taking narcs at night time so that I could sleep. Try using a heating pad. Also try to stay calm, the more stress the more the muscles tense up. Rest more and don't over do it. Once the pain starts, you have done too much. It is only 6 weeks and it takes time to heal. The nerves and muscles are still healing. I have heard that walking will help with the gas. Perhaps so someone else on the site can give you more insight on the gas issue as I didn't have that type of surgery.

You might want to make sure it isn't anythinh else as well. I local hystersister found out she had an ovarian infection at 6 weeks with continued pain. It was found on a ct scan.

I am sorry you're having ongoing pain issues! Do you feel your doctors' taking you seriously? Have you had tests done? I think it seems early on to tell you to see a pain specialist. You are still in the initial healing stage.
In answer to your question, yes I was referred to a pain specialist after my hysterectomy. But I wasn't referred until probably 6 months post op... The time until then was filled with ultrasounds, CT scans, and doctors appts.
I really hope you feel better soon! I understand it's really hard, frustrating and worrisome. 6 visits to ER is a lot! If all your tests come back normal, your surgeon will likely say there's nothing he can do... That's what mine did, and asked me to pursue things with my primary care doc. Be persistent, make frequent appt with your primary care doc, if necessary.
