I got released today from the castle and had great care there!
But the journey there wasn't so good.
OK! Here it goes!
After reading posts of good will to all my sisters and myself, I proceded to do my BOWEL PREP
- a psudosoda fleet. Was to do TWO of these
"things". Drank it, like I was told here - with a straw and wiped lips. All good. Then, I went a put on desitin. Began to get other stuff done around house. 30 minutes later, I was in restroom...with flooding results! I had to sit, drink Gatorade use a sprizer bottle to clean. By 1:00, my bottom us very sore, but I was very dizzy and light headed. Being scared at being home alone with DD (9 Yr) and the thought of passing out frightens me. I called my "like my Mom" person who came right away. When she arrived, the room swam around. I fell and twisted my knee...the one that I had nursed to health for this surgery!!!
SOOOO, I hobble to the restroom to finish the bowel prep...I was NOT doing the other one! I called the Dr office and the surgery nurse told me to stop prep and ice knee. It was my call weither to come in for surgery in the morning or not, but I was going to have to be able to walk after surgery.
Well, I was not going to let this stop me! DD(19 yr) helped me finish packing for the castle. After a night of an elevated knee, ice and no meds, I went to the hospital on CRUTCHES!!
I have to report that after informing EVERYONE I came encounter with about my knee, the day of rest and drugs went well!!! I walked- slow at first, but I walked. They had a wheelchair behind me to catch me if it was needed.
I used everything I learned here. The nurse who checked me in asked what I was in there for and I responded "TAH with a BSO and cervix removal." She looked at me and asked me if I was a nurse! ha
I had one hot flash in the hospital while DH was with me. He was on the couch wrapped up in a blanket and telling me that it was not hot! Am now on Premrin (low dose) and **Knock on wood*** have not had another one. But DH did come home and install a ceiling fan in our bedroom. It even has a remote control! (Pamper me, baby!)
I am taking a Senecot stool softener and taking Mylanta gas disolving tablet, Premrin,and motrin as needed. I do have pain pills as needed, also.
So, after I got to the castle, all was great! But, can you believe my luck? Glad to see my sisters are home, too!
