5 weeks post hysterectomy: CT Scan or not

Hi ladies! I sure hope everyone is doing OK today no matter where you are in your recovery. This Thursday will be 5 weeks for me and following appointment last week for lower left pain, my Dr. said most people get a little better each day and ordered a CT Scan. I have had so much radiation over the past year, I am now questioning if I should just ride this discomfort out a little longer or bite the bullet and do it. There are times it gets intense and then others not so much... Just kind of at a loss as to what to do..... I know that there is still a lot of healing going on in there but the lower left side feels slightly different. UUUGGHHHH Any thoughts?

Re: CT Scan or not

I would get the ct scan. That way you can make sure there is not more going on there than just healing. I had severe pain and a ct scan showed hematomas. Still dealing with this complication and may have to have another surgery. Better to be safe and find out now then later. Wish you luck!

Is there any other way that you can be tested hcullen? (I am sure you asked this already) I can understand how you feel about all the radiation..... I had to have consecutive CT scans to compare the size of my abdominal masses etc. It all boils down to a question of how badly do you want peace of mind. After my last CT scan (just before my TAH) I have now told my GP that I am not interested in any further CT's unless they become my last resort. Good luck in whatever you decide, sometimes it can be a tough call.

Hugs
