post op recovery full hysterectomy for uterinecancer
3 weeks post surgery - recovery is better now. Full hysterectomy, plus lymph nodes for Grade 3 uterine cancer. Progress is slower than I thought but now I have studied Hyper Sisters website - I see it is to be expected. Even with Da Vinci it can take 6 weeks. I was told I would drive in a week and be up and running in 1 to 2 weeks. That is nonsense. I am 58 and no spring chicken! Down to 1 pain med a day now - sleeping OK and hope to drive next week. I realise you cannot rush this and if you do, you can tear stiches - so take it easy. Good luck to all the fellow recoverers.

It sounds like you're on track with your recovery from the hyster and lymphadectomy. I didn't start really feeling like myself again until 3 months post op! The extra lymph node sampling seems to add extra time to the "stated" recovery periods. Take your time through your recovery - it sounds like you are listening well to your body....
If you have any other concerns, you might try dropping by the Cancer Concerns forum. The ladies there have "been there, done that" and are more than willing to share.
Best wishes for a continued smooth recovery!

Thanks for the info. This is all new and pretty scary territory for us all. Patience all round and go steady

Lindsay! I am glad you found us; but so sorry to hear what you have been through! Yes, we all heal differently, especially when the surgeons need to do extra work. Listen to you body and remember you have one chance to heal correctly.
Spinflyer gave great advice to check out the cancer forum. I know that this has helped me tremendously while I have worked to make sense of and understand my diagnosis. Good luck to you and keep us informed of your progress!

Re: post op recovery full hysterectomy for uterinecancer
It is a huge help to read what other ladies are going through on the road to recover. The worries and concerns and what we should or should not be doing. I have to work tomorrow but just for a morning so hopefully will be ok.
Thanks for the input
Lindsay
