3 days post op from lap hysterectomy
Hello everyone. I'm Tanya. I'm 37 and 3 days ago I had my uterus removed by lap. I also had several endometrial cysts cauterized in my abdominal wall. A year and a half ago I had my tubes, one ovary and my appendix removed by lap due to endometrial cysts. I am feeling ok today. I have a large bruise at my belly button and that is still extremely sore and cause most of my pain issues. I sneezed earlier and thought I was going to pass out lol. I def have swelly belly. I have a major pooch where the bruise is. Last night I finally slept in our bed and that was nice. I am able to go longer without pain meds but I need them more at night after a long day of trying to stay up and walking more. I am trying to keep from taking the oxycodone cause it tends to give me severe headaches. So I am taking aleve and the anti inflammatory prescribed. I have not had any bleeding or unusual discharge.
I am here for moral support. I don't have many friends that have had a hysterectomy yet. So this is all new to me. I don't know what to expect. I am a very active person and I'm worried about what is too much activity and what's not enough. Any advice on this would be nice.

Re: 3 days post op from lap hysterectomy
I am a fairly active person and love to walk. The best advice is to start out slowly. Take your little walks around the house until your ready to venture outside. I started by going up the street and back. Each day I went a bit further. I gave myself little challenges. I had a weight restriction of 10 lbs and I made sure to follow that Do what feels right for your body as everyone heals differently. Drink plenty water, healthy snacks and meals. But of course don't feel guilty if your body calls out for ice cream or potato chips. And if need a nap or rest have one. Each day you should start to feel better. Happy healing
