12 days post hysterectomy: Discharge/bleeding

I'm 12 days out from Surgery didn't have much bleeding after 2nd day no pad was needed. Now today when I wipe I have pink discharge. Not bright red but definetely fresh blood. What going on?

It is not unusual to have some minor bleeding post op, could last several weeks for some...
If you fill more than a pad an hour, you should go to the ER.

It depends on your hysterectomy type. If you kept your cervix, then some cyclical spotting/bleeding is completely normal; see our article on mini periods for more information. If you had your cervix removed, then as I've heard from other HysterSisters, it's likely from your vaginal cuff healing. As GPMS said, if it's filling a pad an hour, then definitely have it checked out; otherwise, you'll be just fine. Best wishes for your continued recovery!
