VH Apr 11/06 Leaking bladder on sneezing
Had a vag hysterectomy Apr 11th 06 and I never had urinary incontinence before, but now when I sneeze I get urinary leakage. I had cystocele and rectocele and a uterine prolapse, thus the reason for the vag hyst. I kept the ovaries, cervix removed, and had bladder and rectal repair.
Anyone else have this problem post op, and did it go away? I am hoping in time, this will disappear?

I had it happen once and then it went away. I had a TAH with no bladder problems going into the surgery. They did find that my insides were all stuck together with endo and adhesions. I have found that since my surgery, once the spasms started, I can actually sleep through the night without needing to go to the bathroom. What a relief! I hope you will also have a positive expereince once everything heals.

Marion, maybe the muscles or nerves are still a bit numb or swollen yet.. I think I had a time when I felt as if I had no control...keep an eye on it and if it continues, mention it to the doctor. Are you doing your kegels?

Re:bladder incontinence
thanks for the replies. Hopefully it will subside in time. No, I am not doing kegels and figured I should be doing that. No physiotherapist came when I was at the hospital, to tell me about exercises.
I have felt so good post op, no pain at all. Didn't have to use the apc morphine post surgery, and filled the doctor's pain meds perscription on leaving hospital but never used them. I have been dancing lots like I always do, when I go out to sing at Karaoke twice a week. Hope I am not doing any damage, but wouldn't I have symptoms like pain or bleeding if I did any damage?
