I'll tell all

Hi! I had a TAH/BSO on July 12th.
At the end of March I had a Uterine Arterial Embolisation.
I have also been on Lupron.
Incidentally, I take Coumadin.
If anyone has any questions and I can help, I will answer to the best of my ability.

ELF...

How nice of you to offer! That`s what Hystersisters is all about..women helping women.

I would suggest that you perhaps read through some posts and reply where you think you can help. I know the ladies would appreciate a first hand experience.

I'll tell all

Hi Elf,
After being diagnosed with endometriosis last April through a lap, I have been through six months of lupron injections, (which I thought worked) but as soon as my pds started again, I realized that the lupron did not work

My dr now suggests that I try birth control pills to regulate me. He wants to try them out for six months, and if they work, I will continue with them for 2 years. If they dont work, I will have to face a uterine ablation.....he said that I am too young for a hysterectomy because I am only 37, and because of the extent of my endo, he would also have to take my ovaries. That would mean hormorne replacement.........I was just wondering how you did with your ablation, and how you are doing now after the hysterectomy???

to Jomula

Jomula, in answer to your question about people who have had ablations, I can tell you that I had two endometrial ablations prior to my hyst.

The first ablation was a balloon procedure performed in June 2000. Due to the size of my uterus being so small, the balloon could not inflate enough to be successful, so that ablation was a failure. In December 2000, I had a rollerball ablation. Unfortunately, that was also a failure, so my surgeon said that we had no choice but to perform a hysterectomy, which I had in February 2001.

I do not regret trying the ablations prior to my hyst. It seems to me that one would try less invasive procedures (i.e. birth control pills, lupron, ablation) which might succeed before choosing to have major surgery. That's just my opinion. You must consult with your doctor about your individual case.

I'll tell all

I had a Uterine Artery Embolization - July 10, 2000.

Scheduled for supracervical hysterectomy on August 20, 2001.

Know what to expect just worried about "bowel prep" and travelling to hospital, and anethesia.

Did your UAE Fail? I got a real bad radiation burn during my UAE.

Liz.
