to Jomula
Jomula, in answer to your question about people who have had ablations, I can tell you that I had two endometrial ablations prior to my hyst.
The first ablation was a balloon procedure performed in June 2000. Due to the size of my uterus being so small, the balloon could not inflate enough to be successful, so that ablation was a failure. In December 2000, I had a rollerball ablation. Unfortunately, that was also a failure, so my surgeon said that we had no choice but to perform a hysterectomy, which I had in February 2001.
I do not regret trying the ablations prior to my hyst. It seems to me that one would try less invasive procedures (i.e. birth control pills, lupron, ablation) which might succeed before choosing to have major surgery. That's just my opinion. You must consult with your doctor about your individual case.
