The swelling seems to be going down slightly, that i have noticed. I guess every day is a new day with its own challenges. I do feel better than i did last week, but i have odd sensations now. More inguinal and lower pelvic region. They feel almost like stabbing pains and then some feel like a stinging sensation. I feel alot in my hips, especially my right hip. Im still trying to rest and move a little more each day. And im not going to push myself as hard as i had been. I dont want to risk anything. Happy recovery for you all, ladies. We are all in this together, so we at least know we can count on each others input for support.

One week post hysterectomy - bathroom issues, swollen belly, fevers

Hello I'm new to this forum. I also just had my hysterectomy on the 16 of January and today is the 20 I really do think all the moving things around in there takes along time for your body to get back to normal the gas pain are almost constant my bowels still haven't moved yet and I'm taking colace as perscibed. Ready for relief. Hope you feel better soon.

Much luck to you! I have to admit..im in the Military and not being able to do all the things that im used to are very bothersome to me. Im so anxious to get back to the gym. I need to get back in shape and im so afraid that i will never have my fit body back. This has been a very rough year for me and my husband. Im on day 8 and its still hard for me to do things. I drink Miralax and eat fiber rich foods to help me. Gas X was also a life saver. I also would drink hot peppermint tea...try that as well. The gas pains were unbearable at times! Im just now using the restroom and not crying!

Re: One week post hysterectomy - bathroom issues, swollen belly, fevers

Hello. I'm one week since surgery and today when I went to the washroom there was a little blood when I wiped. I haven't had any issues at all bms are good I take stool softeners so that's not an issue. My left side hurts on my lower incision, it doesn't appear to be infected and I don't have a fever.

I know my doctor said there could be bleeding but shouldn't it have been right after surgery??? I had a lap hysterectomy with the removal of cervix because of precancerous cells.

Thank You all for the responses. After reading it sounds like these are all too common side affects. This helps ease my worry.

The stinging/stabbing pains are probably gas and/or constipation. I had them so bad after surgery that I went to the emergency room only to be told to poop and pass gas!

Smooth Moves tea is my friend, along with Gas X and moving around. Drink lots of water, too. Good luck!
