Re: abdominal binder too late??
Hey there Dawn!
I wore my belly binder for quite awhile, so I really don't think it could hurt if you wore one now, call your doc to be certain tho. I hope you are feeling better soon.

Re: abdominal binder too late??
No, it's not too late. I wore mine. especially when I slept, for about 5-6 weeks. They are great to wear in the car to keep the seat belt off your belly.
I received one in the hospital (I had my Dr. order it) and I purchased on on Ebay and one from Amazon. I wanted a lighter, smaller one to go back to work--I went back part time at 3 weeks to my desk job. They are great to wear, gives support and helps with the swelly belly.
Good luck with your recovery!

abdominal binder too late??
9 days post op from daVinci, I love my binder. I wear it virtually all the time. I call her Betty the Binder, the worlds most supportive friend.

Re: abdominal binder too late??
I am now 8 weeks postop and had stopped wearing the binder after about 2 weeks. I had a tear in my cuff and an infection at 6 weeks and was told by the doctor that the binder might help with all the swelling I was having, which I'm happy to report it has. I got dressed this morning and was able to button my shorts!! lol... I was having to wear sweatpants or sundresses due to the extra 3" of swelling I was experiencing around my belly. He told me to go ahead and keep wearing it for the next two weeks until I go back in for a followup.

Re: abdominal binder too late??
I still wear mine at bed, when I sleep on my side, and then around the house when I feel my belly needs it. When I sleep on my back in the middle of the night, I take it off.
The one the hospital gave me was HUGE and too tight, and I haven't worn that one since I've been home. The one I got from Hyster Sister website is much more comfortable and easy to put on and off.
