getting real I think...

So my husband was talking to his mom today and he said "ok ...see you in 2 weeks." Shes coming down to take care of the baby for me for a week...so that means my surgery is in two weeks. Yikes. I feel so unprepared still...my p
re op isnt until thursday. But thats actually the
first day we're really talking about this. I know
I posted before that I dont even know what kind
of surgery it is. Other than that ovaries
fallopian tubes uterus and cervix are going. Andthat the hospital stay will be between 24 hours and 3 days.

I feel like its a little different for me. Im not in pain, not having problems, and other than a minor cyst no problems at all. Its comoletely prophylactic for me. Im brca-1 positive. Im doing the hyster first because the recovery is quicker than a double mastectomy, and I still have a 13 month old who really needs me now.

My 10 year old is having fevers this weekend and was in the ER friday night for 101.9. Thats nothing for most kids but for a kid with cancer, its not the best.he got up to 102.4 this weekend....but I hope its going downfrom there. He was in the hospital in december for a virus and went as high as 105.9. I know if he ends up in the hospital ill have to cancel surgery. I stay with him for all hospital stays... and there's not a chance ill be able to sleep on the pull out chairs right after surgery. And if I have to cancel the next time ill be able to do surgery is next summer.

So. Just thoughtful right now. Send good vibes that are fever free!!

Re: getting real I think...

You have a lot going on. I wish you the best of luck with your procedure. I hope son gets over his fever soon. I'm in a similar situation with my husband. He needs surgery but we had to put that off until I was well enough from this. He needs a liver kidney transplant and this is a pre to the big one still some years down the road. I hope you don't have to postpone this surgery. Good luck and I hope you and your son get well soon

Re: getting real I think...

I'm sending you all the love I have to send. <3 Just remember, we're never given more than we can handle and everything happens to make us stronger for going through it. I didn't have any cancer but I can imagine how scary it is. Your wee one has it? I'm so sorry to read that <3 blasted disease.

Just keep positive thoughts. And remember, everything happens for reasons so if the surgery does have to be postponed, it's definitely for a reason that you won't know about for a while <3 Most of the time it's for a very very good reason.

Love you and you are definitely in my prayers as is your familly. I hope everything will go as planned so you can get the healing from the hyster and so on behind you.
