5+ weeks post hysterectomy: Ugh. Not well - different pain

I did something today or something happened on its own and I don't know what it is. Having lower pelvic pain with a sharper pain in the left ovary area. It's a different pain then what I've had. When I sit on hard service I feel a horrible pressure... and now I'm getting nauseous. It feels ok when I lay down but when I get up it gets bad again. I took 800mg of Advil with a Tylenol w codeine. No bleeding but had a couple days of spotting this past week. I'm hoping this goes away as I sleep tonight. I have way to much on my plate to have any complications. I tried looking At past posts and saw things about abscesses and infections and then others where they said it just went away on its own.

Re: Ugh. Not well.

Hi Bethana,
I was one of the unlucky infected hematoma patients. Give yourself peace of mind. Call your surgeon and request a CT scan. Best wishes, hoping it's nothing.

Re: 5+ weeks post hysterectomy: Ugh. Not well - different pain

Though you're close to 6 weeks, there's nothing magic about that number. Healing continues for a few more months, and even if you're cleared for activities, you can still start bleeding, have swelling and aches, get fatigued, or even rupture something if you dive back in too quick or too hard. If you've got too much on your plate, it may be time to take some off. Be kind to yourself and don't push yourself to be back on top of your game when your body is telling you otherwise.

I agree that if you have the feeling something is amiss, call your doctor - for peace of mind if all seems well.

Re: 5+ weeks post hysterectomy: Ugh. Not well - different pain

Hello, so sorry to hear you're having a hard time. I've just canceled my afternoon off work from renewed sharp pain, in week six postop. I'm no physician, but I'm learning there's nothing linear about healing from hysterectomy. The kindest thing you may do for yourself is clear off your plate a bit. Our healing is too important to overdo at this time. And unrelated long illness years ago taught me a lesson that's helping me now: pushing too soon makes healing take longer. Put yourself first at this time! And call your Dr. with questions you may have. I hope this helps you!
