13 days post-op, staples removed

I had my hysterectomy (and remaining ovary removed) on July 25th and Aug 3rd, had my staples removed.

I can't remember if some of these weird things started happening before or after the staples.

-I get little 'zaps' around my incision (8" incision across)
-I feel like something is moving inside, but only on the left
-a little part of the incision where the steri strips now are (she put a few there after staple removal) is 'weeping'
-I get kinda lightheaded when my belly swells. which it does for no apparent reason.
-I have uber sensitive skin
-I got a wicked yeast infection after the surgery.

does anyone have any thoughts or comments on this?

I am getting a little nervous about some of it.

Today I am going for my first outside walk (I have just been around the house).

Re: 13 days post-op, staples removed

I am glad your surgery went fine. I am not a doctor but what you are describing sounds normal to me.

-The "zaps" are probably your nerves regenerating. That is a good thing.
-The moving inside are your organs and intestines finding their new home. It feels really weird and it certainly was not a sensation I enjoyed. It was especially bad in the car and when I turned over in bed.
-Keep an eye on the weeping but as long as it isn't bright red blood or pus, you should be okay.
-I have no idea about the lightheadeness.
-The sensitive skin goes along with the nerves regenerating where they were cut. The trick is going to figure out how to keep clothing off of the sensitive part.
-As to the yeast infection, many ladies get it because you usually get antibiotics in your IV during the surgery and it kills all beneficial bacteria in your body along with the bad ones. Make sure your doctor knows about it to treat it and eat yogurt or other probiotics to reestablish the good bacteria.

I hope this helps and have a good walk. Listen to your body and if things get sore or start feeling heavy, it is time to stop and rest.
