Uterine Ablation

When we thought I just had fibroids, my doctor told me that the ablation din not work very well at all with fibroids so she didn't even want to try that.

uterine ablation

I had one 11/25/02, It worked for a couple of cycles, little blood, little pain, then the pain came back, worse than before, the bleeding was worse too. Now I'm scheduled for a pvh in a week. Sorta wish I had skipped the ablation and just gone ahead with the pvh! Hind sight is always 20/20!

Me too!

DR did D & C and some other things in October of 2002. I did not bleed for 3 months. The periods started out lights then within a few months back to normal with heavy bleeding and cramping. When I returned in March 03, he said that it was time for thermal eblasion. I asked him the results and was also told 90%. Then I asked him what if that did not work. He told me hyst. He was waiting for me to bring it up so I said that I was not willing to spend all that money on something that possibly did not work. After reading your posts, I am glad I opted for the hyst instead. With my luck, it would not have worked. 90% is a far cry from 40-50%.

Uterine Ablation

Add me to the list...

I had an Ablation, and some other things done (see bottom), on Febuary 6th, 2003. The periods arent as heavy and long as they were before, but the pain is STILL terrible. This also may sound wierd, but my uterus goes into insanely horrible cramping sometimes after or during sex. After all of this pain, and it ruining my work life, and taking a toll on my marriage, Ive had enough, and cant wait. 2 more weeks to go!!!
