hey folks

now that i'm all official-like, i wanted to poke my head in here and say hi. *waves*

i'm scheduled for an LSH the day after my 33rd bday. i think i'm cracked in the head, cause i'm actually more excited than nervous. LOL i'm waiting to get some surgical reports from having a hernia fixed years ago (which the mesh inserted will hopefully be small enough to not be an issue!), but other than that, all my doctors are in line and waiting for the big day.

does anyone else here take anticoagulants for any reason? i'm going to have to reverse my warfarin for surgery, and go back on lovanox (sp?) just before and just after the procedure...not looking forward to giving myself shots in the belly again, lemme tell ya! i think i'm going to have to get creative after surgery, too, cause i just don't see that being in any way comfie with a sore tummy. LOL

Re: hey folks

Your not cracked in the head! I feel the same way, I can't wait to not have constant pain. Good luck to you.

I wasnt on them for this surgery but the 3 surgeries I had in 2004 I was on warfarin due to blood clots in lungs and all 3 times I had to take the lovanox shots before and after but I used my legs and arms alternating and it was much better then the tummy. Ask your doctor if you can use them and have them show you the right spot to put the shot (it does make a difference I guess). You should be able to use your upper arms if you have someone who is willing to give you the shot, it is like getting an immunization shot and doesnt hurt too much at all.

Good luck and let me know what they say.
