Return of the Discharge/pain

My TVH was March 8 and I've been feeling pretty good. My biggest problems have been fatigue and foggy brain. I was going a little stir crazy at home so hubby and I went out for dinner and a movie on Friday night. I really didn't do anything rigorous - riding in a car and sitting at the restaurant and theater. When I got home and got ready for bed, there was one drop of blood in my undies - I hadn't had any discharge since two days after surgery. Since then, I've had a watery pink discharge - just enough to need a panty liner. I've also been feeling a lot more pressure in my pelvis - to the point that I almost took a pain pill last night. Did I over do it? Is this normal at this point in my recovery? I feel like I've taken a giant step backwards.

Re: Return of the Discharge/pain

I think it is normal. You are so early in recovery. I had discharge well into my 5th week.. My doc said as long as I didnt bleed through a pad an hour I was ok...

Re: Return of the Discharge/pain

Hi klmc
I agree that this sounds pretty normal, but I also agree your body is telling you you are doing a little too much. I found I got that pressure in my pelvis when I was up too much. Sitting would even bring it on.

It's also normal to have some light bleeding and added discharge around two weeks because the sutures start dissolving around that time. I would suggest just listening to your body as you do things and just cut back and let it catch up when you get to feeling like this. Getting out was nice but you probably need to rest up before you do it again. Each week should get better, but add slowly.

It sounds like you're doing great. I hope everything continues to go smoothly.
