surgery scheduled

Hello all I am new to this website, and I can't believe that I found it. I have been browsing and had a lot of my questions answered already. My surgery(LAVH and RSO possible TAH) is scheduled for January 19th. I have basically had my ovaries devoured by cysts and have not stopped bleeding since August. I had a previous Dx Lap, LSO, Hysteroscopy, and D & C on Sept 26th, and subsequently failed provera therapy for the cystic hyperplasia. Now basically I am waiting for the hysterectomy. I am a RN but, it is very different when you are the patient. I must admit that the whole hormone thing is scary, I am not quite sure how that will go, My doc says he will put me on Estrogen only right after the surgery. I have had two previous c-sect so he does not guarantee me that he can remove my uterus vaginally because it is enlarged and I never delivered a baby vaginally. Oh well all I can do is hope that it can be done that way. I would appreciate hearing from anyone that has been through this type of procedure recently, and this website will be a great thing to have during my recovery. Tammy

Also waiting

Tammy & Chelley,
I am a nonpracticing RN, so I know how you are feeling, to be on the "other" end of the line so to speak.
Good luck to you and hope all goes well. Keep us up to date and let us know how things go!
