well i finally got throught to the hospital to see if they recived the letter from my GP about bring my opperation forward "HA" what a waste of time that was . they haven't recived it (it was sent at begining of this month), I spoke to a very nice lady who told me as it was a routine opperation and not urgent they is not much hope of getting it brought forward. i know a lot of you lady's are a lot worse then me and i'm being selfish but i feel like screaming( its not helping i am giving up smoking after the few ciggies i have left ) so being in pain is routine

First of all : YAY for you for quitting smoking (or even attempting it). I want to quit, but keep making dumb excuses.

Secondly, it amazes me how many of us here say "oh, but there are so many other women in so much worse shape than me, I shouldn't complain". Darn right you should complain! All of us here are suffering in some way and to some degree. We should not be comparing ourselves to each other. That serves no purpose. What you should be doing is LETTING yourself be sad and angry and in pain and whatever else you're feeling. You need to take care of YOU hun. That's what we are here for. We all want and need support, caring and a shoulder to lean on.

It doesn't really matter how "bad" your case is. In my eyes, all of us are going through alot, and we all DESERVE to have our surgeries performed within a reasonable time frame. It seems unfair some times that some get their surgeries in a week, where others have to wait many months. But things happen the way they happen. I certainly don't begrudge any woman for having her surgery right away...I just wish I were one of them

I guess what I'm trying to say here is....I wish that you could have your surgery brought forward. It is not fair that you are in pain and must wait so long. That said, I am glad that you found your way to Hystersisters. No matter how long or short your wait, and no matter how serious or elective your surgery may be....there are lots of women here who will be with you from now till your date at the castle.

That's the beauty of this site. We all care about each other and support each other. I certainly don't think about my case as being any more or less serious than any other woman's. We are all in the same boat and must have this surgery for one reason or another.

There will be an outpouring of love, friendship, comfort and caring 24 hours a day whenever you need it hun. So, I am here to cry, laugh, whine, complain, stress out, or whatever with you.

Sorry to hear of your frustrations! When you finally do get scheduled, try and stop 2 weeks prior at least.

I quit smoking a few weeks ago and am very glad I did, with the help of a pill here called Zyban (or Wellbutrin or generic Buproprion). It takes off the crazed addict rage/edge.

My preop yesterday with doc listening to lungs, he was pleased.
I do feel better too.

And with the cost of ciggies in the U.K., yikes!
