Pre-Op Appt- All is a GO

Well today was my pre-op appt. I was alittle nervous but it went very well. Took a urine test went I got in, no blood test because I had one done last visit. Doctor came in talked about procedure alittle more, told me to ask all the questions I want- boy did I ever, pulled out my hystersister's list and asked away (thanks for the checklist Hystersister's). Very happy with answers, feel alot better about surgery. 2 months without knowing was horrible.
Sunday, Will have to do 2 suppositories 1 in AM and 1 in PM followed by a nighttime enema. Mostly liquid diet all day Sunday if possible- Very Light meals said try to eat very light especially later in day-. Nothing after midnight.
Don't have to be shaved Thank Goodness, Gave me the option to have epidiral or GA. I would rather have GA, I have scoliosis and scared to have epidiral. Will be in hospital 1-3 days depends on how things go.
Told me to have a great last weekend with my uterus, and that it is his come Monday. lol (my doctor has a great sense of humor but very truthful, serious and straight forward. I think that has helped me alot.

What should I eat Sunday? Fruit, crackers ??? Should be easy I was so nervous today didnt eat anything all day until after appt at 4pm. Just drank water all day. Maybe I will lose some weight haha!

It sounds like you had a great appointment, you have very good instructions, and you are basically good-to-go. Did your Dr tell you what he considers to be a light meal? If not, you can call his nurse and find out for sure what he meant. It is important though for you to drink as much water as possible the day before your surgery to help with hydration.

he just said mostly liquid and very light that won't make be have bowel problems(if you know what I mean). So, was thinking lots of fruit, and crackers. He just said nothing like fried foods, hamburgers, heavy foods, ect.

mmck,

You will feel so much better after you have this done. My hyster was the smartest thing I've done since I quit smoking 7 years ago.

If your doctor will write your pain prescription before Monday, getting it filled early sure does help because stopping at the pharmacy on the way home is NOT fun.

Don't forget to take your seatbelt pillow for the ride home!

Your will look fabulous in your new crown!
