Ladies,
Went to my pre-op today. The pre-op nurse remembers me from when I had my gallbladder removed 3+ years ago. She was very nice and answered all my questions and concerns. I reminded her to please put on my chart that I cannot vomit or I will undo the Nissen Fundoplication I just had done in June. She was writing away and asked me if there was anything else that I wanted to make the surgical team and hospital staff aware of.
I laughed, and told her that "anesthesia" makes me really grumpy and somewhat mean, so I would like to apologize in advance for being such an awful patient. She laughed and said there is no way you could be mean. I said NO REALLY, Please pass that info along. I am a very kind person but pain meds etc make me turn into a tyrant (sometimes).
I said they probably have my picture up on the 5th floor with a BEWARE sign, because the last time I was hospitalized, I went off on all the nurses and doctor (which IS NOT like me). I apologized to every one of them, once I was down off so much medication, but I'm if they look at my past visit, they'll freak out.
I'm going to take the nurses chocolates, like someone mentioned in the Pre-Op chat and a card thanking them right off the bat!
Anyway, besides that everything was great. She said they would take good care of me. When I asked her about the Da Vinci Robot, she was telling me it was amazing and that she wished they had had it back when she had her hysterectomy. She's had a very positive experience since her hysterectomy and told me not to be so nervous, I will be so glad I had it done.
So, I am counting down the days. Oh, I am scheduled to have my operation at 7:30a.m. (first thing), we have to be at the hospital at 6:15a.m. I like being the first one in a the OR. The waiting is the worse part for me.
