It's Becoming Real...

Okay, I said I was just going to lurk for awhile and get busy. But it isn't working. I can't stay busy. I have had problems with pain for a year, to the point that it will prevent me from walking around, well since running around the house today I'm hurtin bad. Looking at the calender now with 5 days left, it is all becoming so real so fast. I'm worried about what my composure will be like on Wednesday morning. All the fear and worry that you have all helped reduce over the past day or so is coming back full force. I gave my cat a bath, I washed my floor, did my laundry etc. etc. but to no avail. So I have decided to just allow the stress to get the better of me and know that it will all be over soon enough and then I can laugh at myself I guess. There just enough I could possibly say to everyone here. You are all wonderful!

Vicky, Hi. I will be thinking of you as the next few days advance. Can you maybe take in a show, eat some chocolate, take a hot bath, or something else that you know helps you relax? I was just in your shoes about a month ago and can't believe how fast the time has gone. Not regretting one bit.

Vicky, are you doing any better with your stress?

Stress level is down to very minimum. I am actually a bit excited, but nervous at the same time. Just since supper I have had horrible pain. I just got out of a hot tub, hoping it would help...it didn't. So now I sit here in pain ready to try and get up to make my bran muffins so I can be cleaned out before Wednesday. Not long now. I just have to pund back the rectal friendly foods all day tomorrow and switch over to water and crackers on Tuesday and my journey will begin. How are you doing with your recovery? I wait to join you on the post-op board!!

I am doing so much better than I thought I would be doing! Thank you for asking. Even four days ago I had problems driving my husband's truck, then today got in and out with no problems. It is amazing how fast a body can recover. Just two weeks ago I was walking like an old man, and tired so easily. Now I can walk fine and do stairs great; the uprightness has corrected alot of my tummy sag. I am still really tired after doing stuff like my dishes, but I figure I still have another two weeks before my dr clears me for full action.

You will do great! Then you'll read all these posts with new eyes. Thinking of you on the 18th!!

Vicky, last week I was in your shoes, and let me tell you that it was not nearly as traumatic as I thought. No, I did not get everything finished before I left work. No, my house was still disorganized. I was frazzled and a mess. But surgery day came and suddenly it didn't matter at all. Since that day I am so surprised at how good I feel and how easy it is just to rest and let the stress go.

Take care of yourself, and on Tuesday go do something nice for yourself! We are all here for you.
