8 days post op hysterectomy and nightly pain

Hi everyone! I had tvh 8 days ago and for the most part I'm feeling good. However, I am having difficulty having bms and am taking ducolax. Also, I stopped taking the Percocet 2 days after my surgery but last night and tonight am finding myself needing to take one before bed. Is this normal? P.s still have the swelly belly which prohibits me from wearing regular clothes.... Ugh I'm not that patient with my
body

Re: 8 days post op hysterectomy and nightly pain

You are early in recovery so when you start doing little things you may have pain and need something stronger. I too had to take them at night after I stopped taking them during the day. Just those little pains drove me crazy..
Wearing regular clothes may take a while....

Re: 8 days post op hysterectomy and nightly pain

I am post op 8 days as well. I feel the same way, I started taking a Tylenol/ibuprofen mixture during the day and I too feel more pain during the night and take a Percocet.

I have been eating oatmeal for the bms, but do you also feel the comfortableness of having them, like pain in the abdomen to the point of not wanting to go.

I too have swelling, still wearing the jammies around the house.

At least I'm not alone! Are you having trouble sleeping at night or having hot flashes? I do feel pain in my abdomen like I have to have a bm but cannot. I feel like if I strain too much I might rip something but it's frustrating! I took milk of magnesium tonight so hopefully that helps.
