2 weeks post op..... how are you ladies doing?

I had my surgery on May 25th and am feeling good. I have energy and I am in no pain. Still a little sore, but not bad. I had a TAH w/ vertical incision for 2 very large fibroids (15 and 11cm). I kept my ovaries. I am 36 and in good shape. At least i was before surgery. I play a lot of tennis. I think that being in good shape really helped me with this surgery. Anyways let me know how you are doing?

2 weeks post op..... how are you ladies doing?

I had my surgery 5/25 too. Had TAH/BSO. Doing okay. The first week was extremely challenging. On the day of my surgery my 7 year old fell off the swing set ans severly bit his tongue. We took him to the DR and they may have to surgically repair it. On the same day as the DR appointment my Dh had to take my 11 year old to ER we thought he had appendicitis. Through all of this I could do NOTHING but panic and worry. We survived...Anyway.. For some reason have alot of right side pain (not where pain was before surgery). Especially if I sit for too long. BM's are extremely painful. I have 2 week check up Tuesday. these are some of my concerns for the doctor. But the pain I had before surgery is gone so there is a light at the end of this tunnel!!!
Hope everyone else is doing well.

2 weeks post op..... how are you ladies doing?

Feeling not too bad this week.

Spent 3 days in castle - came home for one day - spent 6 more days back at castle with unknown infection.

It hasn't been easy but then it hasn't really been hard either - I think it may have actually been a blessing that I was in the castle for the major sore part of the recovery. I think it helped me not feel so helpless at home.

Things can only improve from here.

Back to the Dr tomorrow for a check - hope all it well. Will be good to have a chat about what changed my TVH to a TAh with loss of an ovary that was supposed to stay. Quite a shock when you wake up after the event with a slice across your stomach that wasn't supposed to be there.

Anyway - happy healing everyone and take care.

Wow...... sorry to hear about that, but i suppose it is best that they take care of all the problems at once, so that you do not have to go back for major surgery again. I am 2 weeks post op today and I feel pretty good. I went out yesterday for about 3 hrs and paid for it a bit last night.

Happy Healing to all

2 weeks post op..... how are you ladies doing?

I had my 2 week post-op appt. yesterday, and I am doing great! Haven't had any pain meds. since about the 3rd day home from the hospital. I do still feel some small twinges every once in a while, but it's nothing that I can't handle. I'm just so happy to be getting back to normal and doing what I usually do everyday. I am being cautious of what I do, though, so that I don't hurt myself. I'm not lifting more than I should, and I'm not doing a lot of stooping down or stretching too far. (Can shave my legs in the shower without pain!)

cbuc: you and I are only 1 day apart with our surgeries, I'm glad to hear that you're doing well!

Yeah........ my surgery was 5/25. Everything seems to be going well so far. I was certainly in good shape before surgery, so I think that has helped quite a bit. My doc is also an awesome surgeon and female which i think is just great. Overall I am very grateful for the way things have gone.

37, TAH w/vertical incision(41/2") for enlarged uterus (20wk) and 2 very large fibroids with a 3rd one on the way. (16cm and 11cm). Believe it or not I was pretty much asymptomatic. My doc said the OR staff was in shock.

So far so good just the painful bms. Ughhh. Otherwise I am driving( short Trips only) and sitting on my behind planting flowers. Just taking ibuprofen for occasional discomfort (notice it more after sitting too long or driving and my overly long walks with me pupper dog.) I see the dr. my 3 week anniversary and cant wait to go back work. She wants me home for the entire 6 weeks Ughhh LOL.

Dmk

lavh, endo adnomiosis, left ovary still with me.

I had my surgery on May 27th I have only taken 2 pan pills since my hospital release. Motrin has helped... and today I can PEE FREELY without pain or discomfort. I have not been given the OK to drive yet but think I will be ok for short trips. I have been lucky with the BM's only had to take a stool softner once and have had no pain or problems. Yes small twinges still but can happily say, the bowling ball pressure between by legs (prolapsed uterus) is GONE, never thought about it much when it was there but boy what a very nice difference. My energy level is slowly increaseing and am happy to say ......... I MADE THE RIGHT DECISION! Thank you all for this site! It has helped me in SO many ways.
