surgery scheduled 2/14/07 so many questions
I'm new to the site. I'm 29 years old and have my hysterectomy scheduled for the 14th of feb. I have two children a 6 month old and a 2 year old. I also have lupus SLE and have noticed that at each cycle I have flare-ups that last 3weeks out of the month. This is the reason for the hysterectomy. I'm unsure about the whole hormone thing. Do I use a pill, do I use the patch. Does anyone have any advise. And has anyone else had a hysterectomy due to lupus symptoms, if so did it give you some relief. Right now I'm at my wits end, my children are suffering so I'm pretty excited and hoping that the outcome of the surgery will allow me to get back on track and enjoy my kids.
Thanks all
Leta

Welcome, Leta. First make sure you have help after the surgery, you will not be able to lift your children for several weeks.
As far as the hormones go, talk to your dr about what is right for you. I am not using any but haven't had menopausal symptoms so have not needed to. The dr will be the one to take the lupis and everything else into consideration when choosing your hormones. I hope the surgery helps.
