Had my preop today and this is what the nurse told me too.

Yeah I had those too. They kept them on me until the next morning, when they got me up to walk. I actually hated them, but my legs were so sore, I guess from the position they had me in during surgery, and those things just made my legs feel heavier. When they finally took them off, and I was able to bend my legs, ooohhhhhhh it felt so good. Sore legs was actually the only pain I had after surgery.

I had the stockings put on right away, then when I got to my room I had the other massage things put on. They were on all night and removed the next day (I had a Laprascopic done). I loved them, they were soothing and comfortable. She just unplugged me when I had to go to the bathroom (which was a lot) then just plugged me back in.

I asked my doctor if I was going to wear "those socks" and he said no- they're going to put on some boots after surgery (I think that's what he call them). I said, "You mean those leg things?". He said no, these go just on your heels.
