really bad yeast infection

hi ladies. i hope everyone is doing well. i am now at my 6 mos post-op and having new issues.
i have this horrible yeast infection. i have never had one before and its really starting to gross me out. i dont understand how this is happening to me. it seems like every time i think i am in the clear and ready to move on -- something ends up happening.
so i guess my question is -- does anyone have any advice for me on this one. i have been doing Monistat 7 cream for 5 days now and it doesnt seem to be helping. i will call my doctor later but i really need to know if there is something else i should be doing.

I am sorry you are having a tough time I think calling your doctor is going to be the quickest way to relief. Maybe you need something stronger than an OTC cream. Or maybe there is something else going on with your body.

I hope you get some answers soon.

Also, it may not be a yeast infection but a bacterial one instead. This happened to me. The doctor cultured my discharge to see. In that case, I had to be on oral antibiotics. Call your doctor for sure.

well heres the thing.
i had this odor not to long ago and i called him and put me on an antibotic plus a cram to do at night. the odor went away but a week later i end up with this. so i dont know if it just never went away or something new occured. i am calling him in a little while --its just hard to that when i am at work.

Some ladies including myself have gotten stubborn yeast infections shortly after hysterectomy and a few seem to still be having trouble with them months out. . You could ask for prescription medication to get rid of it. And you may need more testing. Good luck.

I am calling my doctor today wondering about a yeast infection. I have never had one so I am not sure.

I had an appt on 12/18 and talked about the discomfort I was having and was told to use my Premarin cream more frequently. I did that and it just seemed to be get worse. Dr said I would have to stop the cream for a few days to have a culture done. I have now gone without it for a few days and am ready to get a culture done.

I am wondering about talking to dr about changing to Vagifem - I have read a couple of places of women having more problems with yeast infections when they used the Premarin cream and when they changed to Vagifem not having so many problems.

Any input?

Yeast is a pain, isn't it! I am on my second round of diflucan and I am only a month post op! I am eating yogurt with live cultures in it, and am thinking about checking google to see what else I can do in addition to the medication. I guess our immune systems take a hit, along with all the antibiotics we get!

I have an appointment with my doc on Wednesday afternoon and I'll find out whether it is a yeast infection or not - if not I am guessing it is a sensitivity to the Premarin Cream. I am actually not as uncomfortable as I was since I have stopped using it.


Will ask about Vagifem.
