Sore nipples!!! Help!

I had LAVH on March 1st (Tuesday). My nipples are extremely SORE!! Does anyone else have this problem and is it hormone related???!!

I had the Da Vinci hysterectomy on the 24th of February. My breasts are still tender. The bra they offer here helps. I am also keeping them moisturized.

Don't know if it is hormone related. I figured it was surgery related since they were itchy in the hospital.

Hi alfreeda4! Ouch!! Sorry about your pain. I had LAVH-BSO Oct 28, 2010 but my breast pain was before my surgery. Are you on HRT? I'm using Vivelle-Dot .0375. It sounds hormone related to me, but I don't know your situation. You may try cutting back on caffeine. That seemed to help me before my surgery. I hope you find relief quickly. I know how uncomfortable that can be.

I have one ovary and not on HRT. My breasts look like they did after my daughter was born. Full, at least on cup larger and SORE!!! Omigosh! I read that primrose oil could help...I'll try to get someone to take me into town today and get some of that...I'm desperate!!!

Mine were too!!! Lasted about 2 weeks for me.

Oh My me too!!! I am 11 days now post op and it started 2 days ago. Feels like someone is cutting them off with a knife! I put on a heating pad over both breasts. They are definately swollen and my bra tight but feels better than when your shirt touches them. I am also taking 2 1300 mg of primrose oilsand do know that pre-op I swear by them. GNC's are the best. Been taking them 2-3 years. They gave me an estrogen shot in the hospital and said I shouldn't have any issues - ha! They hurt more than the surgery! Anyone else have any help or relief?
