incisional hernia 1 year post op hysterectomy

Has anyone had an incisional hernia show up after hysterectomy. Not sure it that what is it yet, I'm going for oophrectomy surgery on tuesday and he will check what's going in there. It feels like a hernia and it's been building up sin my hysto a year ago. I just thought it was scar tissue but it's been progressing. So I just wandering if anybody else out there had a hernia show up after surgery and was it fixed by your Gyn while he was in there for something anyway. Thanks

Have you had a hernia before? Just curious how you know it feels like a hernia.

It could by from alot of different things. I had a hard lumpy painful incision. It was not a hernia, but turns out I did have nerve damage and also had a build up of scar tissue within the incision. I had an incision revision where the doc scraped out the scar tissue and moved the incision back where it was suppose to be.

it pops out if I sneeze, cought or lift anything heavy and then pops back in and it feel like the muscle i ripping

I had one show up about 5 months post hysterectomy. It was fixed by a general surgeon, not my gyn/onc. Best of luck with yours.

Hello, had my surgery, turns out my L ovary was stuck to everything and what we thought might be a hernia was a very large clump of scar tissue balled up together. He removed the ovary and excised the lump and created a clean cut to put back together. So better incision closure than my last surgery (that one took 6 weeks to stop bleeding and oozing). the only thing that's put a damper on things right now is surgical menopause. Started on HRT two days after surgery cause symptoms showed up pretty fast. OH BOY!!!!did not like that feeling.

Anyway will figure this out in the next few months I guess.
