Frustrated
My recovery has been going well, or so I thought. Yesterday I was in bed all day and eventually went to the urgent care because I had a horrible migraine headache and vomiting. (suffered with migraines since I was 14) they gave me two shots in my rear and it seemed to help. Today I didnt do too much and everything feels achy... especially my legs and butt. I am getting sharp pain in my vagina and very light spotting. I just had the two week post op and told him everything was perfect and it just went downhill after that. Is this something I should go back in for or is this somewhat the norm? I guess I spoke to soon when I said I was doing well. The only thing I did different today was dishes, a load of laundry and swept. I cant imagine just that messing everything up.. so frustrated I could cry... and now this insomnia thing is getting to me. My mom was staying with us and I literally didnt have to lift a finger these past two weeks then I started to feel good, told her she could go home and I dont want to seem like a baby for asking her to come back. Just frustrating... and yesterday my husband seemed to be irritated with me, he is probably sick of me being sick all the time, especially with the migraines.. I was hoping this hysterectomy would solve that problem, guess not... and to top it off this patch I have to wear is itchy and so big! I hate seeing it on my stomach... sorry for all the complaining.. just feel crappy and no one around me understands.

Re: Frustrated
Crystal - poor you its horrid when you feel you have gone backwards BUT please bear in mind that it takes 6+ weeks to recover (6months to get back to normal!!!!.
I am 5 1/2 weeks post op, Friday had to collect my car from garage so put kids in waterproofs and walked the 70 minutes in your he wind and rain pushing my 3 year old in pushchair around half the way. Yesterday woke up feeling awful almost like a hangover, and exhausted. Last night headache increased, had fever and during the night sickness- won't be pushing myself like that again anytime soon.
Sorry have gone on about myself but seems lot like your symptoms, and I feel your frustration re this (and hubby who incidently if anything like mine doesn't feel annoyed would just like to see you better).
The best advice I have had is take each day at a time and don't beat yourself up when things aren't so good. Rest when you need to (advice I need to heed more) and if you are worried about something ask your doctor that's what they are there for!
I hope today is a good day and you continue to recover x x

Re: Frustrated
Hey there, sorry that you're feeling iffy. I maybe suspect you over did things with the laundry and sweeping. I wasn't allowed to sweep, clean, load dishwasher etc etc for 6 weeks. Although we start to feel perky on the outside, all those internal stitches need much longer to heal. Don't be tempted to compare how much you did pre-op to post-op. This surgery is a toughie and you really need to take it easy.......rest, rest, rest, gentle walks and plenty of liquids. Don't be afraid to ask for help, being a hero now will only set you back......that superwoman cape will have to remain in the cupboard for a few weeks yet.
