Any women in their twenties going through the decision making process?

Hi everyone, just wondering if there is anyone on here who is younger in age & on this journey as well?

Please reply to the topic, if you feel comfortable.
Would really love to hear from you
and would like to hear your experiences so far as well.

Re: Any Younger Women Out There?

I'm 34 and my options were a hyster or try the alternative and hope it works. I chose to try the alternative first to see if it works. My surgery is at the end of Jan. I am having my tubes removed, a hysteroscopy, D&C with ablation. I have a cyst on my ovaries, fibroid on my cervix, and the lining in my uterus is too thick to determine if anything is growing in there of concern. My symptoms are...increasingly painful and closer together heavy periods. I feel like I have have been bleeding for months on end. There's only a couple things I'm concerned about. If there is cancer present in my uterus then they have to do a hyster anyway. Also, if the fibroid on my cervix is causing my unbearable symptoms then this option will not work and we will proceed with the hyster.
Wow.....probably said too much lol but it's nice to "talk" about things Even if it's typing it out

Re: Any Younger Women Out There?

I was 27 when I had my complete hyst on jan5 2011 I'm 30 now. I had to have it because of endometriosis And pos I had to deal with the pain and bleeding and multiple surgies since I was 18. I'm happy I had the hyst but I don't like to deal with the menopause.

Re: Any Younger Women Out There?

I am 31 and had a subtotal hysterectomy for Adenomyosis and Endometriosis. I also had a retroverted uterus and a history of fibroids. I am 4 months into my recovery and I feel amazing, and this was the best decision I have ever made.

I haven't bled a drop since I was wheeled into the recovery room. Within 2 months was totally pain free, and within 3 months was pretty much back to normal, which is awesome since I haven't been "normal" in over 2 years. I was dealing with daily pain, and my digestive track was crippled.

It is weird and sometimes a little upsetting when older women try to tell me how it will be when I have kids, and doctors appointments are a little strange when the nurse innocently asks when my last period was and I have to drop the hysterectomy bomb.

Though it has been totally worth it, and was absolutely the best decision for me. I have my life back.
