Cool - New and nervous New and nervous

I am a 32 yr old single mom and scheduled for a total hysterectomy, repair of cystocele/rectocele, bladder sling, and urethral sling on 6/22/12. I'm really nervous about the physical and emotional tolls this surgery will take on me and my toddlers. I was told surgery will take 5-8 hours and will be robotic, so I'll "be on my head for surgery" All the research I've one says no lifting more then 10 lb but my doctor said 20 lb which is right? My 1 yr old is 20 lb so it makes a big differece. Will the pain be bad? Thanks for your input.

Re: New and nervous

I'm sorry you find yourself facing surgery but am very glad you've joined and hope you'll enjoy being part of this amazing support community.

Princess Ruby has linked our Pre-Op Page above, which is packed with information, but I see you've already found the Pre-Op Forum and have started a new thread there for support. Hopefully, it won’t be too long before more ladies reply with their experiences.

Sending all good wishes for your surgery and recovery!
