Two questions!!

I tried to call the OBGYN but the office is closed for holidays til the 30th of this month.

I'm 4 weeks postop, feeling great and not doing anything I'm not supposed to. I know that you're not allowed to vacuum but what about using a dry swiffer? I would just hold it in front of me close to my body and push it as I walk,no swinging it back and forth,it's very light. I have laminate floors and hubby does them once a week but they are driving me crazy!!

Also, when will my hair stop falling out?? It was so nice and thick before the surgery and it sure is thinning out,I get a brushful of hair when I brush it,very upsetting!!

Two questions!!

I was not allowed to mop or sweep at all until after six weeks. I guess any pushing or pulling could cause some damage. So, I just stared at my kitchen floor for six weeks. Now that I can mop and sweep, I don't really want to, but I really, really wanted to get that floor clean before I was allowed.

My hair is not falling out, so I can't help there.

Two questions!!

My doctor said ABSOLUTELY NO SWEEPING, VACCUMING, HEAVY LIFTING! for 6 weeks! She said "There's a great deal less down there. Do you want to get a hernia?" (I'm a TAH.)

As for hair loss, I recommend taking soy and flax seed tablets every day. Really helped me as it seemed every time I washed it, it was "down the drain!"

Two questions!!

Look straight ahead to the right or left but not up or down, the dust bunnies will be there even if you do sweep. They always come back. Give them and yourself a break. It is not worth it.
I lost half my hair but finally it has stopped falling out. I was realy scared I was going to be bald or have very thin hair. I swear all the hair I lost was the dark hair I had left!
I got it cut so the ends feel healthy and it has finally stopped coming out in huge clumps. I would leave a trail of hair wherever I went. It does stop. It does grow back.
Just like you will be able to clean and the dusst bunnies will come back.
Give yourself a break, go get a hot oil treatment for your hair and pamper yourself a little bit longer.

Two questions!!

Wondering what type of Hyst. you had? Mine was an LAVH. I went for my 4 week check up and was aloud to start my normal routine again. I was to ease back in too it. I went full force. I wished I would have eased that day. I moped my floors and I ran the sweeper and also went shopping at wal-mart, and pushed the shopping cart. I even washed down my kitchen cabinets. Think I tried to be super women, that day. When your Dr. tells you that you can mop and sweep then you can do it. Please not until then. When you do remember ease your way back in. I'm now over 5 months post-op and feel wonderful!!! I have felt that way for along time now. My first 3 weeks were my worst. Good Luck!
