Bleeding from Cervix 10 months post-op

Hi, ladies, it's been a long time! Hope you are all feeling well! I had a partial hystectomy (kept cervix and ovaries) this past February 12. I realize that on occasion you can experience a "mini-period," if you retain your cervix, but today I am bleeding as if I were having a REAL period! I also have the runs, cramps, and feel crappy in general. I guess a call into my OB/GYN is in order since I am positive for papilloma virus, though it never showed up on my cervix or any of my previous pap smears. I had a few minor warts years ago.

Has anybody else with a partial experience mini-periods? My doctor was disappointed when I told her I sometimes got a drop or two of blood around my normal time for my period, because she prides herself on "getting all the uterine tissue and just leaving the cervix and supportive ligaments."

Bleeding from Cervix 10 months post-op

Hi I did not keep my cervix and have not had any bleeding since I healed from the surgery. However, I have seen threads here where many ladies who've kept their cervix have had mini periods... if you do a search on "mini periods" you will find them.

If you are bleeding that much, plus having other symptoms, I would call the DR's office and get in to see him/her ASAP. You need to find out what is causing that much bleeding at this point.

Let us know what you find out, OK?

s,
-Linda

Bleeding from Cervix 10 months post-op

When I went for my post op I asked the doctor if I would have any discharge or bleeding since I kept my cervix and he said no, there shouldn't be any. But I don't have ovaries, maybe that makes a difference.

Bleeding from Cervix 10 months post-op

I am 1 year post op SAH, kept both ovaries and started having mini periods 3 months post. My doctor said he cored and cauterized my cervix during op trying to prevent this from happening. At 3, 5 & 6 mos. post I had silver nitrate treatments trying to stop them. I still have 1 day of spotting every 28 days, it is only on the tissue when I wipe. The doctor told me at 6 months that I may be one of the ones that have mini periods. He said at my age it could happen for 3-4 more years and he thought it would be best I accepted it, it does let me know my ovaries are working but if one day I woke up and said I just can't live with this anymore to let him know and we could schedule the removal of my cervix which would be the only guarantee. After discussing this with by best friend and my mom I decided to let sleeping dogs lie and live with it. I did have one time at about 4 months post I was spotting everyday for 8 days but turned out I had a bacterial infection.

I never bled like a real period, I do have PMS and minor cramps but nothing like pre-hyst.
