ok this is crazy...

I am 100% sure I am making the right decision to have this surgery down but I am 5 days out from going in and I'm teary!
Is this normal?
Has anyone else felt like this?
Please help.

Re: ok this is crazy...

I'm about 2 weeks out and I'm teary too. I find that one minute I'm doing fine and then some random thought pops in my head and I'm a puddle of tears. I imagine that'll get worse as it gets closer. I think it's completely normal even when we know the decision is the right one. Hang in there. I'm sure the waiting is the hardest part and you don't have much longer to go now.

Thanks Catarina, good luck to you. I'm sure I'll be fine, just thinking way too much about it.

Re: ok this is crazy...

I am 2 days away from my 6 week check up and yes one minute you are ok then the next you cry. What got me over the tears was knowing that i had to do this. It was for my health an at 30 with no kids it was really hard but, i have a great husband and he would listen and tell me that my health was more important then anything else. Just know that this is ok and after it can get worse just talk and it helps you to feel better. I will keep you in my prayers and just know your not alone!!!

Re: ok this is crazy...

Hi. I'm feeling the same way. I am 7 days pre-op and am going through bouts of nerves and am crying pretty easily. I'm not as nervous about the surgery itself as the post-op because I'm also having a BSO. I guess we'll see how it goes.
Good luck with your surgery!

Re: ok this is crazy...

Hi Shell73

I second-guessed my decision for a couple months. Then, two nights before my surgery, I had pain so bad that I nearly passed out in the middle of a Christmas Eve church service. I was happy to have that reminder of just why I was having the surgery.

Even so, I was so anxious. On the morning of my surgery, I woke up so happy to know that I didn't have to wait anymore. For me, the waiting truly was the hardest part. I hope the same for you.

Re: ok this is crazy...

I was such a basket case before my surgery...I just didn't want to do it. I didn't want to be put to sleep...didn't want to go through pain...I didn't want to loose my uterus. But I had to get healthy again. I was crying and begging my hubby to take me home while we were waiting for them to call me back. I was so bad my doctor even asked me if I wanted to have the surgery. Once I got to recovery....I had my warm blankets on me and I felt relieved.

Re: ok this is crazy...

I completely understand ... I'm two days from surgery and am on the verge of tears all the time. I think that my fibroid & uterus "know" what's going to be happening and are messing with my hormones.

Hang in there!

It's not crazy, I was a mess! The morning of I wore sunglasses so that my husband and mother could not see me crying. It's just your nerves, everything will be fine!

Re: ok this is crazy...

This is really normal. The last bit of waiting is the hardest bit.
Have you got something constructive to do with your time that you feel able to do. Knowing I was as ready as I could be helped me, but part of what you are going through is irrational and you just need comforting.
Hope you've got a sympathetic ear and lots of hugs close by.
Keep posting.
