Re: Pelvic Pain...anyone else??? I'd like to hear from you!
All of you here are in very early recovery so one thing you need to do is give yourself some time. However, I'll related my experiences as a "just in case" so you have something to talk to your doctors about. My surgery was in November and at my March appointment because I was in pain my gyn-onc recommended that I see a uro-gyn that specialized in sexual dysfunction for the pain (I had pain during sex - dyspuernia and just generally in the vulvar region - vulvodynia). She found that I was guarding (muscle tensing) and recommended pelvic floor physcial therapy. I started that in early April and by the end of June was done!! They did myofascial massage of my abdomen and of the vaginal opening, they also did massage internally to release muscle triggers and guarding and had me do internal therapy w/ a dilator. We also worked on pelvic floor and abdominal core exercises. It all helped immensely. I would say most times I am 100% pain free although when I get stressed I can feel pain in my abdominal muscles. I thought they were crazy recommending PT but my therapists said "the vagina is a muscle and you would receive PT after other surgeries".
So keep the faith and hold positive images of a good recovery in your head.

Thankyou Sjenk for starting the thread and thanks to everyone who has posted so far. It has been really useful to read your stories and about the solutions where you have found them.

"Really" bad pelvic pain is usually a consequence of overdoing it, though to be safe you might want to check in with your doctor. I did things like pushing heavy grocery cart, lots of bending, particularly doing garden work, and I had really bad pain. I was told I was overdoing it. I do hope you'll be able to take it easy and heal, best of luck to you.

Thanks to all that replied to this thread! I know I'm not the only one concerned about "pelvic pain..." but to those that were answering to my post...thank-you.
And Catarina, thank-you for letting me know you had your hysterectomy only one day after mine. Although we all heal differently, it gives me a bit of an idea where I stand.
I had a complete hyst., therefore ovulation is not a possibility for me...
I also have IC (Intersticial Cystitis), maybe its just flarring up even more now?! If this continues, I will definitely talk to my Dr. and will definitely look into visceral massages...
Again, thanks to all...and hope you continue to have a speedy recovery!
