I have been reading this site for a few days since learning that I have to have a hysterectomy May 24. This has answered a lot of my questions but I am so much older than most of you. I am 71 and have cysts on my ovaries. Have had a CA125. I was doing very well until the Doctor called and told me the date of surgery, then just cried. I have no idea of what to expect and this place has helped a lot.

Also have you checked at the top of the page in "Resources" that has a lot of info to read.

We are here to hold your hand while you wait for your surgery day and don't want you to feel alone going through this.

Best wishes

We have the same surgery date!! You should remember to put your surgery date in your profile so we all know when you post what your date is....

I have been surfing around this site for a couple weeks now and it's the only thing that has kept me sane! If you need anything please let us sisters know so we can help you~~

*hugs and happy thoughts*

Welcome Wendy
You are in the room of broad shoulders and big ears! I for one cannot thank everyone here enough for holding my hand during this waiting period. All the emotions you go through, you don't go through alone! I have found that out. The support is wonderful and that lessons any fears of asking a "stupid" question or just venting out your fears and frustrations. We are all here for typically the same thing. A major surgery. And that in itself I have found to be a very terrifying time. But everyone here have shown me support and given me guidence and that really does ease so much stress. I have 5 days to go and I find myself on here 3/4 of the time. So any time you have a question or just need to talk... feel free to contact me or any of the other sisters on here. We are all there for you! Good luck for a fast and speedy recover from your trip to the castle!

Thanks Wendy!
Wow your right,,, 4 days to go now. Its not going by as slowly as I thought it would. I remember being back in your shoes with 4 weeks being the starting point. It sure did go by fast. 4 weeks to 4 days didnt take long at all.
I find myself spending alot of time on here reading. LOL And I am NOT a reading type of person. But lately.. I can see the screen go blurry from just reading and reading. Wish I did this good in school. LOL Guess I should go and work on my cleaning "list".
Well keep in touch.. you are in my thoughts and prayers!

Hi Wendy

Just thought you would like to know I'm no spring chicken either and also have a huge ovarian cyst (12cm). I've also had a CA125 which was fine, and a CT scan. Dont have my date yet but may hear tomorow. We are more or less in the same boat so I'm mentally holding your hand.

Valdee, I have a cyst on both ovaries, one is very small. Just had some bleeding that scared me into going to the Dr. She said at my age, it could be cancer which scared me even more. A biospy turned out OK. Glad there is someone nearer my age on here, These young girls have so many responsiblites with children and job and all. I just have a yard to take care of.
