6 Days post op & vaginal pressure

I had LAVH on 3/4 and for the first few days felt relatively good. I guess I should say I had the surgery due to uterine prolapse. At first, I felt relief from that, but after about 4 days, I walked through the grocery store with my husband and started to feel the vaginal pressure similar to what I had experienced with the uterus! I don't know if I walked too much too soon, or if the bladder or something else is "falling". Needless to say, I'm overwhelmed and feeling depressed about the prospects of more surgery!!! Is it possible that this will go away with more time to heal?

Re: 6 Days post op & vaginal pressure

I had LAVH on the same day as you. I'm not feeling any vaginal pressure... I think it would be wise to call your doctor and let them know you're concerned about it. At the very least they could give you suggestions (I don't know much about this but would kegels and other exercises help?) and/or ease your mind about maybe just needing more time for things to "settle".
(((hugs))) I hope it works out for the better. I know if I had to even think about having another surgery right now I'd probably lose it.
Definitely keep us posted!

Re: 6 Days post op & vaginal pressure

Thanks, ladies! I did call the dr. yesterday, left a message at the nurse's desk but did not hear back. I'll probably hear from them today. I have my post op checkup tomorrow. I'm just starting to worry that it may have been my bladder and not the uterus that needed correction anyway!! I sure didn't think recovery was going to be like this.

Re: 6 Days post op & vaginal pressure

Went back to the dr. on Friday. The bladder is down and it will probably require another surgery to lift it. She referred me to a specialist. She said the hysterectomy was still necessary, she had hoped it would help with the pressure, but unfortunately it did not. I'm trying very hard not to be discouraged about all this -- I tell myself I should be thankful that this is fixable and someday soon I'll be back to normal.

Anyone have suggestions regarding bladder prolapse surgery? What to do/not to do? Thanks!
