Ovary pain HELP

I had a hysterectomy a year ago. I left my right ovary to avoid menopause, and at the time, it had no endometriosis trouble like the left one had.
I have been in SEVERE pain the last two weeks. My ovary hurts so bad that I can't sit, stand, eat, or go to the bathroom without pain. I need narcotics type of pain. I avoided the ER as they don't usually do much. I had an ultrasound and I haven't had my follow up, but the tech who did it said she saw MANY cysts and an enlarged ovary. I think this is why I am in so much pain and why my bladder hurts, and my stomach is swollen. But when I research it, all it says is that every woman has cysts on her ovaries every month and that they are normal, and that the pain is normal. Well, I don't know anyone else walking around like this for two weeks every month,so what do you think? What could it be? Am I nuts?!

Re: Ovary pain HELP

You aren't nuts. If you feel pain, you feel pain, and hopefully your u/s is the first step in getting it taken care of. The cysts that your research has uncovered are normal, but the cysts picked up by an u/s are much bigger. They may be the cause of your pain. It may also be a flare up of endo if any of it was left behind. Hopefully you'll get the answers you need at your follow-up.
