pain getting worse and dr wants to move up surgery!

My pain is suddenly worse. I can't sleep through the night and I have to take doculax to pass a bm now. Dr told me to move up surgery but I have certain responsibilities and obligations that I need to do. Surgery isn't until11/19. Motrin 800 isn't touching my pain, so Dr suggests Tylenol pm. I hate medicine. Does anyone have suggestions regarding sleeping and pain management.

Re: pain getting worse and dr wants to move up surgery!

I have major pain at night as well, not sure near as bad as yours. but I take a nice long hot shower letting it hit lower back, and then use a heating pad on my back for about 30 mins. I dont do meds either and IB was not touching my pain so doc did end up giving me Vicidin lowest mg he could, I take one at night and seems to help. Hope for releif for you and hugs
