Questions before surgery

I am having TVH with sling and rectocle repair. Doctor said I will have a spinal with something else to help me sleep. I will be in the hospital overnight. My question is about getting a binder. I am not sure if this will help with me or not. Look forward to hearing from someone who has been through something similar.

I had a LAVH with rectocele repairs and didn't use an abdominal binder. I found that freezing some pads after wetting helped soothe the perineum swelling and my pillow pressed against my belly helped when sneezing or rolling out of bed. Some ladies find the binder very soothing though . I am glad you are preparing in advance.

I did buy a binder. I used it some just as some added support. I liked that I could insert the cold packs, etc.

I love my binder and wear it 24/7. Also sleeping and lying down with lots of pillows.

I had LAVH and bought a binder but didn't use it. Every one is different in their recovery needs. I found it uncomfortable for anything other than standing, some women who had abdominal swear by it though.

I had the EXACT same surgery 6 days ago. I have had no need for a binder since everything was done vaginally. The rectocele stitches freak me out, and I am sleeping more than I'm awake, but being that feeling great. And very thankful for a TVH vs abdominal. Good luck! !!
