I'm home

Had my surgery on Monday (16th) and was sent home the following afternoon. TAH where they found two large fibroids. I'm doing ok but feel so unprpaired for all this.

So many meds, to rest to walk, bleeding, not bleeding and of course to eat or not to eat, to have a bm or not .

I read and read looking for more answers, can I just say I had such great nurses, I wish I was still in the hospital!

I don't feel like I"m in a lot of pain so I'm only taking one pill. I just started passing some gas late last night, still no bm. I'm eating light but was told no restrictions. I'm slightly bleeding around my staples.

I'm home alone and just feeling...very lonely

Hi-You are not alone. I haven't had my surgery yet (8/6) but will post after I am discharged. I'm very nervous and I find that it sometimes helps me to think in terms of very tiny baby steps and keep up the positive self talk (i.e., "I'm better [whether or not you believe it!] today than yesterday and tomorrow I will be better still.") Perhaps meditating on healing, favorite things, keep distracted, etc.? Hang in there!

So glad things went well for you. I understand the 'lonely' feelings... feeling that way too at times. But each day does get a little better. Come to the site for support whenever you're feeling down. Even if I just read other posts and don't participate, it makes me feel alot better knowing I'm not alone. We're all here for eachother.... all you have to do is lean.

Welcome Home!

Welcome home! I am new to this whole hystersisters thing and was just in checking it out! I can't help with any questions either! I go in for my hysterectomy on August 7th. I'm quite scared too. I just pray every night that God will take care of me and my family through this whole thing. Keep me posted on how everything went! Again, congrats!!
