Pain and swelling in my incision

I am 1 1/2 weeks post op TAH BSO. My incision looks ok but I am having very sharp pains in and around the incision. I also get sharp pains in the vaginal area. I have a very hard area in the center that involves about 2 inches above and below my incision and is about 4 inches wide. Is this normal? Also how long did you wear your abdominal binder. I wear it off and on as I find it hurts to have it on too long.

Re: Pain and swelling in my incision

If your pain is new or increasing, it's probably best to give your doctor a call to be on the safe side.

Agree, call the doc to be safe. There are so many different kinds of pain when you are that close out of surgery. It's hard to know what is normal or not.

Re: Pain and swelling in my incision

I had the same problem with the abdominal binder. After the first post op week I quit wearing it because instead of helping to relieve discomfort it became a source of discomfort.
