7/26 - Huge tube & ovary & uterus gone!!

Hi all,

Had my LSH two days ago. Stayed overnight and came home yesterday. Relieved, but not 100% sure no cancer!

When my doc tried to do a biopsy in office a few weeks ago, she couldn't access the uterus because it was blocked at the cervix. She was going to do a D&C at the beginning of my surgery, but still couldn't for the same reason. She didn't want to puncture uterus and not be able to do surgery!

So while she told us nothing looked like cancer, there have been no pathological reports back yet....but everything is out anyway! I'll get those reports next week at my post-op appointment.

What she did find is one tube and ovary triple their normal size, and a uterus the size of a 12-week pregnancy!! She believes that is from endometriosis. The other tube & ovary was normal size but had markings of the beginning of endometriosis, too! She actually took pictures and showed it to my husband right after surgery and me that evening....GROSS!! No wonder I was sick! She said she thinks the uterus became enlarged just over the last few months....but the tube could have been like that for a long time....YUCK!

She didn't find any adhesions on colon...said intestines looked good!! That is a relief as I have Crohn's disease.

AND even though all were big, she was able to do it all laproscopically! I am a little sore, and hurt when I get up or down, but other than that I'm feeling pretty good!

I still have some gas....but initially "gas" was diarrhea. I had two bm's before leaving hospital. So unlike some folks, I didn't have problem with waiting for bowels to work, but again, I have crohn's so that could be why.

So far so good.... I'll just be really relieved when I get the pathology reports back next week!

Thanks to all for your support!!!!
