Question for you lovely Ladies

My friend just had her hysterectomy yesterday.
# 1 she is having the tvh
#2 she said they had "drilled" holes in her overies as well.

She is under the impression that she is going to be back to work on Mon. Even though I keep telling her she wont even be able to drive for 2 weeks.
Have you ladies heard of a proceedure that has that short of a recovery time and MOST of all "drilling" holes in your ovaries???? Whats that all about??

Thanks
P.S.
I have filled her in on this website and I hope she takes a look at it.

Re: Question for you lovely Ladies

I have not heard of drilling holes in your ovaries. I do know I am one of three in a group of close friends that have had hysters one of which had a TVH and her recovery time was 6 to 8 weeks. She did seem to get up and moving around faster that I did, however, she still indicated she was exhausted from just a trip to the store for a gallon of milk a month after her surgery.

I went through denial about how I was going to recover also. I am nearly 8 weeks post op and have another 3 to 4 weeks of light duty because I may have over done it even though I don't feel as though I have!

Re: Question for you lovely Ladies

Thank you, Bear1164
I thought it was odd for the whole "holes" thing.
I am not the type of person to say I told you so.
I want to make sure she understands how magor this surgery is.

I am right there with you on the denial thing.
I have over done it numerous times. Landing myself on the couch again with a heating pad.

Hope everything goes well with your recovery.
We have to keep reminding ourselves to "pamper the princess"

Re: Question for you lovely Ladies

ive seen some women here talk about having that done to their ovaries but i dont know anything about it. if you google it, you can probably find some good info on that.
since your friend had a vaginal hysterectomy, her cervix was removed and she has stitches at the top of her vagina where that was. she should be very careful the next few weeks with overdoing it, as that needs to heal right for a lot of reasons.
