Clitoral Pain Post Hysterectomy

I had a total hysterectomy 12/16/09 and started have severe clitoral pain about a week after. My Dr. seems to think it might be where the instruments used during the surgery rub against me - but it is getting worse. Has anyone else experienced this or know what might be causing the pain and how I can make it stop??

Hmmm, very strange, did you have a vaginal hyster? I had mine vaginal, took 4 1/2 hrs do to large fibroid and I didn't have any pain. If it persist a second opinion is always an option. Sorry to hear you are in pain, and not a great way to spend the holidays. Good luck.

I had significant pain from the top of my inner thigh, over to the labia stopping just inside the labia short of the clitoris. It didn't get better or worse for the first 2 weeks, that is when my Dr. took me back to surgery for laparoscopy and removed a stitch that she said had trapped a nerve. It felt soooooooo much better as soon as I woke up. I still have some discomfort but it is getting better.

That was not something that I had seen on here or even new was a possible complication. It is apparently uncommon but not unheard of.
