My doctor told me that if you keep your cervix, then you can still have monthly spotting or "mini-periods". Maybe that is what you are having.

Hi Browneyes3964,
It sounds like you had a SAH (Subtotal Abdominal Hyst).
I agree with EWWO4U. It sounds like it might be a mini-period. If a Hyster Sister keeps one or both ovaries and the cervix..there can be the chance of a mini-period in post-op. Generally, ladies report needing a panty liner at that time of the month.
As for your energy level...you might put in a call to your Dr. and have it checked out if it continues. And it can be very normal to need a full 6-8 weeks recovery time and even longer if need be..with an abdominal hyst.
Sending best wishes~
Mary

Hi Browneyes. We had our surgery on the same date. I had lap though which often speeds up recovery. Just thought it might help you to know even a cuple of days ago after 3 weeks of no spotting, I had a couple of spots. Also, while I have had generally increasing energy levels that have allowed me to walk heaps while on vacation, I still have the odd day here and there where the fatigue is incredible and I can do little else but rest at every opportunity. Did you have a blood test to check your iron levels? It can be wise to check this out if the fatigue is more than the odd day. I hope you feel better soon.
Cheers
Alison
