Confused about cuff...

I had a TVH...July 7th...I assumed that everyone who has had a hysterectomy has a cuff....but I just read that one reader said she didn't have a cuff. Is there another way to close the opening of the uterus after the surgery? If I don't have a cuff would this explain why I was released on day 18 to do whatever I felt okay to do, including sex? I haven't and won't do that yet...too scared and still recovering from my yeast infection....Can anyone enlighten me? Thank you sisters.

If you have kept your cervix then you do not have a cuff. That is my understanding. Hope this helped

Thank you. I don't have my cervix, so I must have a cuff....Dr. never mentioned my cuff...just said that all looked good.

I have the most wondeful doctor, but there is a lot he didn't discuss with me (vaginal cuff, etc.). If it weren't for this website, I wouldn't be nearly as informed and prepared as I was.

i guess i have a cuff...i don't have a cervix and Wednesday (week 7) when they did my annual pap along with my follow-up that i heard the Dr. mention a cuff...i meant to ask about it but forgot cuz i was chit chatting away with her and the nurse and how after my little setback with the STAPH infection I was really doing rather well.
