Scheduled for surgery June 10th

I am in my 40's and after looking at the options have decided to go ahead with an LAV. I have had problems for many years and have had previous LAP surgery to remove ovarian cysts and do a hernia repair. I am scared but realize that this is my best option. It will remove the need to wear black or navy on certain days of the month. I also won't have to carry such a big purse in order to be prepared for an emergency. I am trying to go into this with a positive attitude because it has helped my recovery on previous surgeries. My biggest fear is being put under. Can this be done under a local?

There are ladies who have used an epidural for their surgery instead of general anestesia(sp). You could do a post asking the ladies who have used an epi for there experiences with it. I used general,I slept through it all .

Whichever you decide though, discuss it with your Dr.

I appreciate your prompt response. I am going to ask about the epi. I did something similiar with one of my d & c's after a miscarriage in the early 80's & my recovery was much quicker.
