Six Months - changes for the better

If you were here in June and saw me post, you recognize me as one of sisters who had some problems. My TAH went great, but a huge hematoma developed that was painful and exhausting. But it went away and I'm here to give you some hope that it wasn't all for nothing.

I've dropped 30+ pounds since June and it has stayed off. I feel better, more energetic, less aggravated, and happy. Sometimes, my abdomen does get a little tender still, but not often. For awhile, bm's were events to be dreaded because everything inside was so sore. That passes.

I've not had any bleeding since the hematoma cleared up a few months ago. My ledge belly went away, too. Swelly belly stopped for me at about two months out and now it's probably as close to flat as it's ever going to get. (notice, I didn't say it was flat, just said it's as close as it's gonna get).

I can't recall what life with a period in it was like. I know it was hectic and frustrating and painful, but that's all like it happened to someone else, like it's not even real for me anymore.

I stick around and check this site daily because when I was in the heat of battle my sisters were there for me.

Six Months - changes for the better

Hey there slyragz!

We had our hyst's on the same day. Happy 6 months!

I'm pretty much where you are as well. Occasionally tender if I overdo, that's about it. A minor bm issue is the only reminder (and my scar, which is starting to fade).

Time sure flies!

8 week out from TAH BSO

Hi - it's nice to hear things are going so well for you. I'm just two months out but it's the best thing I've ever done for myself. I'm back to work and feeling great, except a little tired most of the time. Giving myself room to continue healing, resting and taking care of myself.

Thanks for checking in.
