Brand new kind of crazy

Hi All! Had my total divinci hysterectomy on Feb 24th and I'm still struggling with pain fatigue.

However, my emotional state is under attack. I'm on the patch and I'm having anxiety, feeling blue and frustrated that I'm still unable to do much. Does anyone have any helpful advice or remedies for the post op crazies? I'm real tired of being tired and sad.... Any thoughts would help... Thanks!

Re: Brand new kind of crazy

I had my partial done on tuesday. i think that a little grieving is normal, and i personally feel that it's a good thing. Let yourself feel what you're going through. I wish you all the best!

Re: Brand new kind of crazy

I found my emotional state the hardest thing to deal with in my recovery. It seems to be part of the whole thing. The best thing to do is to try and take your mind off things. I know this sounds ridiculous, but I did things like jigsaw puzzles, watched episodes and episodes of "Gilmore Girls" and just tried to "enjoy" doing nothing. It seemed to work.
In my discharge instructions, it said that the emotional turmoil is normal, however, if it lasts more than a month or so, it is best to seek some medical help.

I had the same issues. I spoke to my DR about the fact that the patch was not sticking well on me therefore my estrogen dosing was not consistent at all. We switched to the pill form and now everything is fabulous. Perhaps, you could ask your DR about a switch.

Re: Brand new kind of crazy

Since I just had a partial will I go through full blown menopause? I know my dr said I will be going through it for a couple of weeks be fore the surgery and when I saw her last week she said nothing about it and I forgot to ask.
